MOMINO-KI ART

An Art Ensemble of Momino-ki

I’ve found my passion in supporting artists with disabilities at a facility called “Momino-ki” since 2000. They follow their instinct and pour all they have when creating artworks and their creativeness and energy have been inspiring my own artworks tremendously. It eventually gave me an idea for a project in which artists with disabilities and I collaborate and work on the same piece together.

One artist work on a piece and another do next and finally I finish the artwork. Sometimes, there are 2 artists, 3, 4 or 5. Characters of each artist merges together and many different collaborations of artists cause a chemical reaction. It’ s almost like an orchestra paly harmoniously and we call it “An Art Ensemble of Momino-ki” .

On many occasions, art is considered something that an individual work on alone.
My project is a challenge to that preconception of art. Art should be freer and more flexible. I don’ t want to see them as artists with disabilities. I want you too see them as “Artists” .
And my challenge will go on.
